About This Lesson
Bring World War II history to life with the riveting personal stories of real women in Her War, Her Story: World War II narrated by Jane Lynch!
About the Film
Her War, Her Story: World War II is a compelling documentary film (under 60 minutes) that explores World War II through firshand accounts of women from the United States, England, France, and Germany. These individual stories from more than two dozen women provide a view into the role of women in one of history’s most violent conflicts, from the perspectives of those who served, witnessed, or were caught up in a war that proved women were the equal of men when it came to patriotism, service, and in some cases self-preservation during crises that called for steadfastness. From children sent from London to the countryside during the Blitz to top-secret Enigma code breakers to munitions factory workers, the breadth of experience and contributions of women to the war effort is staggering and inspirational.
