About This Lesson
The Event — Student Edition (Syllabus Description)
The Event (Student Version) introduces students to the core ideas of the original metaphysical treatise through a blend of reading, discussion, and performance. The centerpiece of the course is the staging of two original plays—The Event: A Dialogue and The Event: The Return—which transform abstract concepts into lived, embodied inquiry. Students explore themes of relation, emergence, and becoming by taking on roles, interpreting scenes, and collaborating to bring the texts to life. The student edition provides clear explanations, guiding questions, and structured activities that support both comprehension and performance. By the end of the unit, students will have engaged philosophy not only as readers, but as thinkers, actors, and co-creators of meaning.
